Good Things Come to Those Who Wait...

12-11-10

That's OVA's new release date. I know this comes as a disappointment to many of you (or an inevitability already expected by WT Forum goers), but it's only in the interest of making sure that OVA will be the best RPG it can be! Using a single artist has been a bigger time-sink than I expected, and there's been quite a few pitfalls along the way, but everything should progress smoothly from here on out.

Just so today isn't completely devoid of good news, I have also updated wiseturtle.com with its new look! Eventually the site will feature subsections devoted to each game made by Wise Turtle Publishing, but for now, it's just a preview of things to come.

Hope everyone is doing well in internet-land, and thank you for your continued interest and support.

  1. I'll forward that new release date to a couple of friends who have been asking about it. I know you want to make this the best game it can be, and I fully support that. Why release something early or in a hurry, only to have people say it doesn't look top-notch afterwards?

By the way, I just saw the live-action movie Robo Geisha last night (it's hilarious!!). The main character from that movie definitely has Human Arsenal combined with Hammerspace and Beauty, a great OVA character!

  2. Aww. Oh well, I'll have to start my new game with the current book, it seems.

Good luck! I'm looking forward to it! :D

    *watches the countdown*

  3. New website! Well, I can't help myself because I'm an illustrator, but I really liked the turtle shell emblem with the wide T from the back cover of the OVA book. I wonder if it'll have a worthy heir/spiffy remake?

  8. Thought:

A Facebook profile I could share with my fellow gamers would be a great way to get some word-of-mouth action going =)

    I see a Wise Turtle profile (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wise-Turtle/168876503133185?v=wall), but it's... ummm... empty =P

A lot of game shops (including the new one where I live) have FB profiles and Twitter feeds. They often share info about new products, too =)

  10. Also curious.

Are there any new dice requirements?

I'd like to prepare my group so they have dice specifically for the game =)

  11. Sorry for the long time no comment guys. Blogspot doesn't notify me of comments, and I've been very busy lately... I'll try to address everyone here.

    (> ^ - ^ <): It'll make a come back, it's just currently being refined. :)

    Derek: Sorry to disappoint...

broken serenity: Apparently I fail at javascript. Turns out it counts January as "00", making December "11". So when I put in 12, javascript rolled it over to January. Sorry for any confusion this caused.

Steve(n): As you can see, Wise Turtle's social-networking is under construction. But if you're eager to jump on right away, WT already has a twitter account at, you guessed it, @wiseturtle.

Matt: As you can see from the latest blog post...not so much.

Steve(n): Nope, dice are the same. More's always better of course, but you should expect to use about the same number of six-sided dice as before.
